We Treat Depression / Mood Disorders
A Brighter Tomorrow Wellness Center knows that significant changes in mood that interfere with everyday life may indicate a mood disorder such as depression or bipolar. With proper diagnosis and treatment, however, most people with mood disorders do overcome them and have positive outcomes.
Although depression may occur just once during your life, many people tend to have multiple episodes. When these episodes take place, the symptoms will usually occur throughout most of the day, if not nearly every day. These may include:
- Feelings of sadness, grief, emptiness, or hopelessness
- Angry outbursts, irritability, or frustration - even if it's over small matters
- Loss of interest or enjoyment in most or all normal activities, such as sex, hobbies, or sports
- Sleep issues such as insomnia or sleeping too much
- Fatigue or lack of energy where even small tasks take extra effort
- Low appetite and weight loss or high cravings for food and weight gain
- Anxiety, agitation, and/or restlessness
- Slower thinking, speaking, or body movements
- Feelings of worthlessness or guilt, dwelling on past failures or self-blame
- Difficulty in thinking, concentrating, making decisions, or remembering
- Frequent thoughts of death, suicidal thoughts, suicide attempts, or suicide
- Unexplained physical problems including back pain or headaches
